Basement Social: Amourie T., Ema Corde, and Sam Green

The second Basement Social landed exactly where it should: a small room, an engaged crowd, and three artists who made every seat in the house feel like the best one.

BASE Music Studios in Crows Nest hosted another intimate night of live original music on August 7, continuing what the first Basement Social started. The room was smaller this time, and honestly, that made it better. Every act could feel the audience, and the audience could feel them right back.

Amourie T. opened the night, accompanied by Cooper Turnbull on vocals and guitar. The pair played originals, both released and unreleased, from Amourie T.'s upcoming EP CLUMSY. Their standout moment came with a cover of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide, where the entire room fell silent and just listened. That kind of quiet from a crowd says more than any applause.

Ema Corde was next, and the energy in the room shifted immediately. Her crowd work is electric, pulling the audience into parts of her songs and keeping everyone on their toes. The vocal riffs alone were worth showing up for, but it was the way she connected with every person in the room that really set her apart.

Sam Green closed the night, and if you haven't heard his name yet, remember it. His voice is gentle, his writing is strong, and he has a rare ability to capture moments of bliss, change, and grief in a way that genuinely moves people. The whole room was immersed in his set, with some audience members brought to tears. He is a serious talent, and it would not be surprising to see him go far.
